CNA Training for Jensen Beach Residents

Earn Your Certification in One Week — RN Instructor, AHA BLS Built In

More than half of Jensen Beach’s population is over 55. The senior care facilities here are hiring CNAs, but Martin County has no adult CNA training program. Medical Plus Training Center in Fort Pierce — 25 minutes north — can get you test-ready in a single week.

She takes you from beginner to certified with patience and professionalism. Her encouragement and expertise gave me the confidence I needed to succeed.

Jensen Beach is a small community in Martin County with an outsized need for healthcare workers. About 12,500 people live here. The median age is 54.5. Nearly a third of residents are over 65. Three major assisted living and memory care facilities operate within the Jensen Beach CDP, each of them employing certified nursing assistants. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is five minutes south in Stuart and hires CNAs across departments. But there is no CNA training available in Jensen Beach, and no adult exam prep program anywhere in Martin County. Our one-week exam prep course in Fort Pierce fills that gap.

CNA Employers in Jensen Beach

Jensen Beach does not have its own hospital. What it does have is a concentrated senior care market driven by a community where more than half the residents are over 55. The CNA jobs in Jensen Beach are in assisted living, memory care, and home health — and there are more of them than you might expect for a town this size.

The Cabana at Jensen Dunes

The Cabana at Jensen Dunes, at 1537 NE Cedar Street, is the largest senior living community in Jensen Beach. It offers 130 assisted living apartments and a dedicated memory care wing. The facility provides 24-hour nursing oversight and employs CNAs in both its assisted living and memory support programs. Assisted living starts at $5,235 per month and memory care at $7,985 — price points that reflect the level of hands-on care residents and families expect. CNAs at The Cabana work directly with residents on daily living activities, medication reminders, mobility support, and personal care. AHA BLS certification is required.

Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach

Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach, at 125 NW Jensen Beach Boulevard, is a 62-suite community offering 48 assisted living and 14 memory care residences. Built in 2014, the facility is affiliated with the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida, which means it maintains a licensed nurse on-site around the clock and provides on-site access to physical therapy, occupational therapy, primary care, dermatology, podiatry, and mental health services. For a CNA, this VNA affiliation means you work alongside clinical professionals in a setting that emphasizes medical integration, not just custodial care. Grand Oaks hires CNAs who hold current certification and AHA BLS.

Brookdale Jensen Beach

Brookdale Jensen Beach, at 1700 NE Indian River Drive, operates independent living, assisted living, and memory care on a single campus. It is part of the Brookdale Senior Living network, the largest senior living operator in the United States. The community offers 101 to 199 assisted living units and 16 to 30 memory care units. Brookdale’s Clare Bridge memory care program is specifically designed for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and CNAs working in that program receive specialized orientation. Staff is on-site 24 hours a day.

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital (Stuart)

Jensen Beach does not have a hospital, but the Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital in Stuart is roughly five minutes south on US-1. Martin North is a 244-bed acute care facility that has served Martin County for over 80 years. It operates a 24-hour emergency department, diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery, and a cancer center. CNAs at Martin North work across medical-surgical, post-operative, cardiac, stroke, and emergency department support teams. The hospital requires AHA BLS certification for all direct patient care roles. For Jensen Beach residents interested in acute care rather than senior living, Martin North is the closest major employer.

CNA Training Near Jensen Beach

People searching for CNA training in Jensen Beach quickly discover there are no adult nurse aide programs located in the town itself. Because of this, most Martin County residents look for CNA training near Jensen Beach in neighboring areas such as Port Saint Lucie, Fort Pierce, or Vero Beach.

Medical Plus Training Center in Fort Pierce is about 25 minutes north of Jensen Beach on US-1. It serves students from across Martin County who are preparing for the Florida Prometric CNA exam.

How the Course Works

Florida allows you to sit for the state CNA competency exam without completing a formal 120-hour training program. This is called the challenger pathway, and it produces the same certification as the traditional route. Our course exists to prepare you for that exam.

The program runs one week. Day sessions meet Monday through Thursday. Two evening schedules are available for students who work during the day. Chevaughn Maitland, RN, teaches every session. Her clinical nursing background means you practice each skill — blood pressure, patient transfers, catheter care, infection control, intake documentation — the way it is performed in actual healthcare settings, not simplified for a classroom exercise.

Your AHA BLS Provider card is earned during the course. The Cabana, Grand Oaks, Brookdale, Cleveland Clinic Martin North, and every home health agency in Martin County require current BLS before your first shift. We do not treat this as a separate registration or an extra fee. It is part of the program because it is part of the job.

Tuition is $650. That covers the exam prep workbook, hands-on skills practice, bloodborne pathogens training, and AHA BLS certification. The only additional costs are the Prometric state exam fee ($155, paid directly to Prometric) and the background check required for Florida licensure.

Getting Here from Jensen Beach

Medical Plus Training Center is at 602 North US Highway 1 in Fort Pierce. From Jensen Beach, the drive is about 25 minutes north on US-1. You can also take I-95 north to the Okeechobee Road exit. No tolls on either route.

Twenty-five minutes is a routine Treasure Coast drive. Jensen Beach residents already make trips of that length to shop, see specialists, or visit friends in Fort Pierce or Port St. Lucie. The difference is that this trip happens three or four times over a single week — and at the end of it, you hold a CNA certification and an AHA BLS card that qualifies you to work at every senior care facility in your own community.

Questions from Jensen Beach Residents

  • No. Florida permits candidates to challenge the Prometric CNA exam without completing a state-approved training program. The certification you earn is the same either way. Our one-week course prepares you for both the written knowledge exam and the five-skill clinical demonstration.

  • Yes. Medical Plus is an authorized American Heart Association training site. The BLS Provider card you earn is the clinical-grade AHA credential that assisted living facilities, memory care communities, hospitals, and home health agencies throughout Martin County require for patient-facing roles.

  • It is, and you would not be the first. Jensen Beach’s economy has a strong hospitality and service sector, and many of the interpersonal skills that make someone good at customer-facing work — patience, attentiveness, communication under pressure — translate directly into patient care. Our course is built to take motivated people from zero clinical experience to exam-ready in one week. It requires focus and effort, but it does not require a healthcare background.

  • You are exactly who this course serves well. Family caregivers already understand the physical and emotional realities of patient care. What you may not have is structured knowledge of how the Prometric exam tests those skills. Our course bridges that gap: you practice each clinical task to the specific standard the state exam requires, earn the BLS credential employers demand, and walk out with a professional certification that reflects what you have been doing for years.

  • There is no waiting period. Most students sit for the Prometric exam within a week or two of completing the course, while the material is still fresh. The test includes a 60-question written section and a clinical evaluation where you perform five randomly selected nursing skills. We cover all 21 testable skills. For exam day details, see our Prometric exam walkthrough.

Jensen Beach Needs CNAs. We Train Them.

The Cabana at Jensen Dunes, Grand Oaks, Brookdale, home health agencies, and the Cleveland Clinic Martin North in Stuart are all hiring certified nursing assistants. Martin County has no local path to that certification for adults. We provide one in a single week, taught by an RN, with AHA BLS included.
